Based on 69 reviewsYayoi, a Japanese restaurant located in UP Town Center, consistently attracts patrons with its comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Reviewers commonly note the spacious seating arrangements and soothing ambiance, enhanced by tasteful decor and subtle lighting, which contribute to an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant's service is frequently highlighted for its attentiveness and innovative ordering system via tablets, allowing customers to track their orders efficiently. The food quality receives positive remarks, particularly for its flavorful set meals and generous portions, though occasional feedback points to slight variations in seasoning. While some patrons have experienced moderate wait times, this is generally accepted given the made-to-order approach. Overall, Yayoi is appreciated for its blend of inviting environment, reliable service, and satisfying Japanese cuisine, making it a favored choice for both casual solo diners and groups seeking a convenient and pleasant dining option.
ATMOSPHERE Dined in solo on a Sunday afternoon at around 3pm. The place only had few customers so the crowd noise was barely noticeable. I liked the spacing of the tables, it doesn't feel cramped and I could barely make out the conversations of the people seated nearby. SERVICE I was served complimentary tea almost immediately after I sat down. They have this device on every table where you can put your orders without the need to call for a waiter. However, whenever you need assitance the staff seem to be attentive enough to notice it. You can also use the device to get the bill. I like the overall convenience of this setup. I would have rated 5 stars for the service if not for some noticeable inconsistencies. They offered to refill the water of the table beside me but failed to do the same for me. They also sometimes greet leaving customers with the usual arigatougozaimashita but they don't do that to all customers (idk why haha). Anyway, these are just minor stuff which is why I still rate their service 4 stars (would've been 4.5 if it was possible in this platform). FOOD I ordered the Paitan Ramen w/ Karaage for a total of Php 675 with Php 67.5 service charge. The ramen soup was good, flavor was balanced. The noodles where initially a bit firmer than what I usually prefer so I had to start with the karaage to let the noodles soften. The karaage was only 2 pieces served with a side of lettuce, a slice of lemon, and a specific dipping sauce. The karaage itself has good flavor which was enhanced greatly after being drizzled with the lemon and dipped in the sauce. The lettuce tasted like lettuce lol but the dressing was god-tier (I forgot to ask what it was but it had sesame seeds). Initially, I was disappointed that it was only 2 pieces of karaage but after eating the entire dish it felt like it was correct amount. Overall, the food was very satisfactory but I rated this 4 stars because of the price. The "w/ Karaage" option was an extra Php 180 which seems too much. Would've rated this 5 stars if the extra was only Php 100 max.
Great food! Our orders took a while to prepare, which was understandable, but I really appreciated their unique style of service. Will definitely come back!
Good place to dine and relax. Place has nice murals and the lighting adds to the ambiance. The dish I had was a bit salty for my taste. Staff were attentive and helpful.
We always pass by this restaurant but never was really drawn to it until now. My son wanted to eat Japanese, and I wanted somewhere near after Mass. Yayoi was a compromise, and were we glad our feet took us here!! We had to line up but didn't wait too long. You enter your order through the screen and once each item entered it goes to the kitchen already. You can "track" your orders so you know which one is about to come out. They serve whatever is ready so it wasn't a long wait at all! We were impressed with the quality of the food - every dish and side dish were delicious. We also ordered the Yuzu drink and it was !
Japanese restaurant known for their set meals Generally, the food was delicious. We all ordered set meals that came with generous servings. Chicken namban arrived as juicy cutlets complemented with rice and miso soup. We took portions home and even after reheating it, the food was still pretty tasty. Service was also good. After being shown our seats, the waitress introduced a tablet to order from. Requesting tea/water and the bill was also done through the tablet. Takeout was self service. They'll provide containers for you to transfer your leftovers. Overall, satisfied with the dining experience
Great food, good service, nice atmosphere. Loved their matcha ice cream.
The restaurant felt a bit cramped since the tables are placed together. It would be better if the spaces were bigger so you can feel more comfortable. Also, they were full house so we waited around 30 minutes. You have to order through a tablet and at first it was so confusing but we got used to it. You get to see the total price also through the app so that’s cool! With regards to the food — it’s okay. Nothing special really especially with its price. If you want a quick fix of Japanese food, then I recommend it but be ready with it’s price haha! Anyways, would eat here again!
Good service big portions. And the food here is tasty and yummy. We come here offen. Nice location also.
